Global Beats World Percussion Trio

Three master drummers, each from different disciplines, united in the universal language of rhythm. Steve Smith - jazz, blues, R&B drumkit specialist - joins forces with global percussionist Hakim Ludin - consummate artist with the frame drum, congas, djembe and kanjira. They are both underpinned by the young drum master Karuna Murthy, a supreme exponent of mesmerising and ancient tavil percussion. They each perform individually and then the set culminates in a tour-de-force trio piece blending composition, improvisation and pure inspiration. 

1. The trio was promoted to the public favourite in a unique concert on 22 July 2003 in the Royal festival hall London.
